San Francisco, California
Right now I am sitting in my sister's apartment in San Francisco looking out her windows at Nob Hill straight ahead and the Bay Bridge off to the left. The sun has just set and the cool breeze is coming through the windows. It feels so nice here, especially with the sounds of the city in the background. The lights are on now on the bridge and the rest of the buildings and skyscrapers that I can see from here. It is really relaxing right now.
I flew in around 2:45pm from Seattle today after staying the night in Seattle. I went to the airport really early because I was so afraid of repeating last year's epic 23 hour visit to the Sea-Tac Airport due to me missing my 6:00am flight. Today I arrived somewhere around 9am for my 12:30pm flight, which was really nice because I was able to kick back and relax while I waited for my flight and I also had enough time to get gifts for my girls. For the third year in a row, I spent Labor Day weekend at the Gorge near George, Washington, camping out and seeing Dave Matthews Band on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night!! The best part is that O.A.R. opened for them each night so that made things even better. I met some awesome people this year and am definitely going to keep in touch with them so that we can all meet up again next year!

Labor Day Weekend 2008
St. Louis to Seattle, Washington
Today I flew from St. Louis, Missouri to Seattle, Washington and then will drive to George, Washington tomorrow morning which is where the Gorge Amphitheatre and Campground are located. This is going to be the third straight year that I have flown out here to see Dave Matthews Band at the Gorge on Labor Day weekend! I am pretty excited again, as usual. I arrived today around 11am, but I didn't get to the hotel until around 1pm, the bad thing is that check-in wasn't until 2pm!! I didn't know that until the lady working the front desk told me. So, I went outside and sat there until she was able to get a clean room for me, which actually wasn't too long. The only bad thing is that it was much cooler out here and I totally forgot to pack pants!! I can't believe I did that! I totally wasn't thinking. Tomorrow I will have to buy a couple pairs at a store somewhere along the way. Oh well, I will try to update each day since I will have my computer there with me and plenty of time on my hands during the day.

I haven't had a chance to write about this concert until now, so I am trying to catch up on things and writing this on the 28th of August from Seattle.
I went to Memphis on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of August with Jessica and her husband, Terry so that we could see the Dave Matthews Band concert on Saturday. It was so awesome! It was one of the top five DMB concerts that I have been to. It was so hot that night, about 90 degrees, maybe even 95, even after the sun went down. It was crazy hot! The great thing was that the band played for about 3 hours and seemed to be enjoying every minute of it! We had General Admission tickets that were on the field and we were able to get pretty close to the stage and were right in the center which made a really nice view. This was my 16th DMB concert and the first without LeRoi Moore playing because of his accident back in June. Unfortunately he died on August 19th, which was terrible news. It was a really fun night though and the concert was fantastic!! I can't wait until tomorrow when I will see them at the Gorge for the first of three nights!

Caleb Jordan Willis, 17, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2007, while wakeboarding at Spring Valley Lake in Victorville. He left this world doing what he loved. Caleb began wakeboarding at age 9. He was a member of the Spring Valley Lake and Canyon Lake wakeboard clubs. He also traveled throughout the United States competing at Nationals, Worlds and the Junior Pro Tour for the past several years. In 2004 he traveled to Sevilla, Spain, for the WWC Wakeboard Championships and placed eighth. He aspired to be a pro wakeboarder. He was an honor student at Sultana High School with many friends. He was drug free and encouraged many of his friends to be responsible in many ways. Caleb is in heaven with his mom. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Caleb is survived by his proud father, Big Mike; sisters Rachael and Rianna; brother Jamison; grandparents Stan and Nancy Willis and Boyce Woody; plus the many families that adopted him in their hearts. A viewing took place from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Victor Valley Mortuary, where people were able to come and see what his life was all about. VICTORVILLE — A 17-year-old died from injuries he suffered on Spring Valley Lake when attempting a wakeboarding stunt, officials said Friday.
Caleb Willis, 17, of Victorville was pronounced dead at Desert Valley Hospital about an hour
after he was injured, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Web site. Initial reports were that he struck his head on the board, officials said.
The accident was reported around 4:30 p.m. Thursday and deputies and paramedics were sent to the 18000 block of Pier Drive in Spring Valley Lake, said Sgt. Lon Jacobs of the Victor Valley station.
Deputy Ryan Gutierrez arrived within minutes and relieved bystanders — including Willis’ family — of CPR compressions, Jacobs said.
“Ryan said that at no time did the victim show signs of life,” Jacobs said. “CPR was constantly being administered.”
Although an air ambulance was called, as soon as American Medical Response arrived Willis was transported to Desert Valley Hospital where he died around 5:45 p.m.
“As far as I understand there was nothing criminal about it, they were just out enjoying lake recreationally,” Jacobs said.
Deputy Troy McComas from the Colorado River station was called to the area to conduct a fatal boating accident investigation, authorities said.
It is the second death on Spring Valley Lake this month. A 19-year-old drowned April 1 when boating after hours, officials said.
“This was just a horrific, tragic accident,” Jacobs said.

33 Years Old!!
My birthday was sort of split into two parts. The girls took me to dinner tonight to celebrate because last night I volunteered to work one of the concession stands at the Scott-Trade Center in St Louis during the Blues game. The money that we raised last night went to the girls school, so I figured that it was for a very good cause. Anything to help improve the education opportunities for children is a worthy cause. I think we raised around $500 for the school last night, just selling beer, food and drinks to the fans.

I actually had a pretty good time doing it. The Blues played the Detroit Redwings and won the game with a score of 1-0! I love going to hockey games, but I haven't been to a Blues game in a couple of years because of the strike. It is sad, the stadium was only half-full, if that. Oh well, it is going to take a few years to get the fans confidence back and start the process of building a devoted fan base.
There were 6 of us that went there to work the stand. Melanie rounded up most of them, including me, at the last minute. For the amount of money raised, it was worth it. Hopefully the school will be able to put it to good use.

Today was my birthday dinner. Melanie and the Girls took me out to Texas Roadhouse which is one of my top two favorite restaurants! I had a really good time, even though I was totally put in the spot light! Megan told the waitress that it was my birthday! So, the next think I know, I am sitting on a saddle, everyone is looking at me and the staff is singing some song as loud as they can to the whole restaurant!!! Then I had to twirl my napkin around in the air when everone yelled "yee haw!!" (or something like that). I wasn't too embarassed though! Usually I wouldn't have climbed on the saddle, but it is amazing what you will do when your three daughters are looking at you and smiling. I didn't want to act like a little baby and run away!

Well, other than that, not much else went on for my birthday. I guess as you get older, they just don't mean as much. I do know that this last year taught me so much. I think I grew up more during my 32nd year than I have in a very long time

Sarasota, Florida

Right now I am in Sarasota, Florida at my brother's house! I flew in last night at 8pm and it is so nice here! I left St Louis yesterday and the temperature was in the 30's with snow on the way. Today we went down to the beach just to see it and it was so beautiful! The temperature here today was in the high 70's and sunny! It is such an amazing change from one day to the next! I really can't believe that it is January right now.
Anyway, I just wanted to write a really quick message and attach some pictures. It is going to be a nice week here hopefully!
